Learning can be uncomfortable

Learning is not always easy, but I view this discomfort as an integral part of the adventure. Embracing the unknown and confronting challenges head-on present opportunities for remarkable growth. In my classrooms, empathy serves as the cornerstone of our approach, setting my lessons apart. By creating a safe space for students to make mistakes, I can encourage them to view errors as exciting chances to learn something new.

Building Lifelong Skills: Empowering Growth in the Classroom

Tutoring should go beyond explaining concepts; it should encompass guiding students on a journey of personal growth. As a tutor, I take on a role of a mentor, with a deep commitment to nurturing students' self-esteem, instilling confidence, and fostering trust in their unique learning styles.

Mistakes are Opportunities

In my classes, making mistakes is not only acceptable; it is often encouraged. Many students hesitate to express their thoughts unless they are certain of being correct. However, I encourage a different mindset—communicating their thought process enables me to identify where they need help and where they can improve. This open communication becomes the catalyst for growth. Consequently, an engaging class not only enhances academic outcomes but also fosters students' confidence in their abilities.

Becoming Independent Learners

I aspire to equip students with new skills that will empower them to become independent learners for years to come. Join Donya’s Tutoring and together, let's build a strong foundation of lifelong skills, unleashing the potential within each student and empowering them to embrace the adventure of learning.

About Me

Donya's LinkedIn Image

Currently, a student at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Biomedical Engineering, I have been a tutor since 2020. I love working with young people to help them reach their full potential, because I feel like I can understand them when other teachers cannot.
I have completed a program in mentorship and leadership with Victoria University, where I worked with high-school students to help them build leadership skills. I also have experience as a Commercialization Intern for Medical Technologies and have studied in the UK as part of my degree.
In my spare time, you’ll find me bouldering, enjoying nature, or annoying everyone around her with my singing and dancing.
